Booking Guidelines for Study Skills Workshops and Consultation Sessions
General Policies & Procedures
Students can log into this online booking system using their Portal user ID and password. Students are required to provide some personal information (e.g. Name, Faculty, and email address) for system registration.
As this service is very popular, students are only allowed to book one workshop held in the same week and one consultation session every two weeks.
Students are not allowed to book a workshop more than once.
If a student is unable to attend a booked session, he/she must cancel the booking through the online system at least 24 hours before the session start time.
If a student fails to attend any booked session, he/she would not be allowed to book another session for 1 month.
Students are reminded to pay attention to the venue location and be punctual to the session.
Personal Safety & Boundaries
All sessions will be held before 6:30pm on weekdays in meeting rooms arranged by CEDARS for the protection of personal safety.
The peer study skills coaches have no obligation to provide their personal contacts or additional service to students outside the scheduled workshops and consultation sessions.
Privacy of information & Copyright
All identifiable information of the students is kept confidential by CEDARS in a secure manner, in compliance with the university regulations and related privacy legislation.
Recording and photo-taking of any session through any media or device is strictly prohibited.
On some occasions, consultation may be necessary between the peer study skills coaches and professional staff in CEDARS. The respective student’s consent will be sought on these occasions.
The copyright of all training materials such as handouts, assignments, and PowerPoint notes is owned by the trainers and CEDARS. Students must seek CEDARS’ permission to reproduce the materials for any other purpose.
