Connect with Courage: Social Anxiety Treatment Group
Connect with Courage: Social Anxiety Treatment Group
- Do you feel anxious in situations where you have to communicate with others?
- Do you avoid situations because you are worried about being evaluated or judged?
- Does your anxiety affect your social life, expressing yourself, speaking up in classes or doing things that you want to do?
We all care what others
think of us to a certain extent. But this may become a problem if it gets in
the way of building fruitful friendship, seizing opportunities that you strive
for and/or achieving goals that you set.
Social
anxiety can be treated using cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). This treatment
group consists of 6 sessions based on the evidence-based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
(CBT) approach. Apart from the structured learning part, the most empowering
part is that every participant will be allowed to openly share their struggles
and successes so as to gain confidence in managing the anxieties.
After the workshop, you will have:
- Make sense of your own vicious self-perpetuating cycle of social anxiety;
- Change thinking patterns. To learn ways to recognize and reexamine your thinking that affects your social performance;
- Do things differently. To discover how to confront the difficulties effectively instead of avoiding them;
- Gain new experiences or perspectives;
- Support each other and receive valuable feedback from others.
Time: 2:30 pm - 5:00 pm
