Curriculum: Bachelor of Science in Quantitative Finance [Code: 6884]

The University Registration and Induction Programme for New Students will be held during August 14 to 19, 2024, depending on your curriculum of study. The Programme comprises three parts, namely Faculty Induction Talk and Programme Induction Talk (if any), Talk on Common Core Courses, and CEDARS Non-Academic Induction Talk.

New undergraduates are required to attend all three sessions to complete the University Registration and Induction Programme.

Faculty Induction Talk and Programme Induction Talk

The Faculty Induction Talk will give you an overview of your study at HKU and university life including introduction to your Faculty and Departments, programme structure, important academic matters such as curriculum requirement, course selection and enrolment, academic integrity, academic advising and experiential learning opportunities.

Time: 2:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Venue: Grand Hall, Centennial Campus, HKU
Remarks: In case of inclement weather, the talk will be re-scheduled to be held on August 21, 2024 (Wednesday) at the same time and same venue. Course selection related video & FAQ and enquiry email will be posted on the Faculty's webpage on August 19, 2024.


BSc(QFin) Induction Talk

Date: August 27, 2024 (Tuesday)
Time: 2:30 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Venue: KK315, 3/F., K.K. Leung Building, HKU
Remarks: The Faculty office will provide information about arrangements for inclement weather to students nearer to the date.


Talk on Common Core Courses

The Talk will provide an opportunity for you to obtain information and ask questions in relation to Common Core course selection before the first day of course selection on August 20, 2024.

The Centre of Development and Resources for Students (CEDARS) provides supportive resources and customised opportunities to students, enabling you to strive for excellence in the whole person development. In this CEDARS Non-Academic Induction Talk, students will be introduced to a wide range of non-academic services, support and resources to prepare you for your new learning journey at HKU and enable you for a fruitful first year learning experience.

The Student Body Registration & Hall Information Day will be held from August 10 to 11, 2024, depending on your curriculum of study. New students will have the opportunity to explore campus, meet their fellow classmates, and learn about academic planning through visits to their respective faculty and academic societies. They can also join diverse interest clubs and attend student-led orientation activities. Additionally, students are encouraged to visit information booths and join hall tours for both residential and non-residential halls.
