Dedication in Medicine and Community Service
In the busy world of medical school, So Ching Hei, Adrian shines brightly as a symbol of dedication.
Recently named one of the top 10 Outstanding University Students by the Mingde
Association, an honour earned through a tough selection process that included
interviews with senior government officials and respected university professors,
Adrian's journey is both impressive and inspiring.
Adrian was awarded one of the Top 10 Outstanding University Students by the Mingde Association.
With a Master of Research in Medicine, Adrian has focused on stroke
rehabilitation, looking for ways to use mobile apps to improve patients'
quality of life. His work shows how technology can enhance healthcare, making
him a rising star in this important area.
Adrian was answering questions in a booth of the Hong Kong Student Association of Neuroscience.
But Adrian's efforts go far beyond research. He is deeply committed to helping his community. Over the years, he has worked with the elderly and patients with rare diseases, raising awareness about their challenges. In February, he organised a two-day "Stroke, Panic disorder, Epilepsy, Anxiety disorder and Depression (SPEAD) - Brain Emergency Support Workshop 2024 " that introduced high school students to neuroscience. During this event, students interacted with epilepsy patients, helping to break down misunderstanding and build empathy. Through stress relief workshops and discussions on brain disorders, Adrian worked hard to promote mental health and support those in need.
Adrian took on a leadership role in organising the "SPEAD" workshop for high school students.
Guest speakers in various medical and scientific fields were invited to the "SPEAD" workshop.
Now, as he takes on clinical and research experiences at top institutions around the world, Adrian aims to focus on early stroke diagnosis and new treatments, showing his strong commitment to improving healthcare in Hong Kong. With a vision that combines hands-on practice and innovative research, Adrian is not just a student; he is a future leader ready to make a real difference in society and beyond.
