Twenty years of concocting gourmet tastes of thoughts… Hong Kong is a ‘hybridised city’, according to the well-known writers/critics Chan Koon-chung and Lee Ou-fan. We are living in spaces and histories amalgamated and conglomerated from a wide spectrum of cultures from old to new, from east to west. GE is also a hybrid. We are an academic unit, and we have been providing non-credit bearing programmes and courses for many years. GE is the common platform to provide intellectual nourishment for all students at HKU.
