To further extend the positive impacts of urban farming to the community against the adverse challenges brought by the COVID-19 pandemic, CEDARS-GE have been collaborating with the Caritas Mok Cheung Sui Kun Community Centre at Kennedy Town to organise farming workshops for the public, especially the needy communities in the neighbourhood. The workshop aims to empower the participants with basic organic farming and food processing skills. And during the workshop, additional learning elements such as wellbeing awareness will be included.

▍Recruitment of HKU Student Facilitators 

Learn to serve our neighbourhood community, particularly the underprivileged ones, HKU students will be recruited to be facilitators at the community farming, their duties include: 

• Assist the instructor during the workshop, help with the preparation, and engage the participants;
• Prior knowledge on urban farming and experience on community service would be an advantage;
• Experience in Child Education and Care , and/or a Bachelor Degree in Child Education would be an advantage;
• Student facilitators should have a good command of spoken Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin) and English.

Remuneration

• HK$200 will be offered to the student facilitator for each attendance of workshop (5 sessions in total)
