Our Happy Thursday – Tea from Around the World continues to bring you the very best opportunities to learn more about various countries’ tea culture and meet your HKU peers in the new semester.
Student hosts from different countries and places will be invited to share the tea and snacks of their homelands, and to tell stories of their tea culture and own place!
GE team has been curating this cultural exchange programme since 2017, and student hosts from all over the world including Denmark, Egypt, France, India, Indonesia, Italy, Jamaica, Japan, Kazakhstan, Mainland China, Morocco, Oman, Pakistan, Russia, South Korea, Switzerland, Taiwan, the United Kingdom, and Vietnam have shared the tea and snacks of their hometown.
#1 Tea from Iran (22/9)
Student Host: Zahra Lotfifard (BSc Year 2)
In the first session, Zahra will introduce Iranian delicacies, namely the black tea and sholeh zard (saffron rice pudding) and talk about the Iranian tea culture, festivals, languages and similarities between Persian culture and Chinese culture.

Celebrating a German-styled Christmas in September? Why not? In this session, Yara from Germany will bring you Kinderpunsch and Christmas cookies and introduce you the German Christmas traditions.
