F:A:C:E: Subsidy Sharing - Book Talk: Ourself Zine
The editor and photographer of Ourself Zine (@ourself.zine) will be joined by community sex educator, Justin Chu to reflect on LGBTQ+ rights activism at HKU. Join us in mapping out ways of building solidarity within the community as we discuss excerpts from the zine and look at the specific context of LGBTQ-friendly spaces on campus.

Both the zine and this event value the intersection between queer and marginalised racial/ethnic identities. As a starting point, we would recommend that you to read B&E’s story from the zine. E writes in the interview, “I find it a comfort that I don’t have to explain things to B (their friend) whether it’s my sexuality, gender, certain jargon that straight people won’t understand, or really just what it’s like to be a non-cishet non-local person in a foreign place. There’s an unspoken understanding between us that I find beautiful.” The full story will be made available to you in a PDF after registration.
