崑劇起源自元末明初於蘇州崑山縣，是一種糅合唱、做、唸、打、舞蹈、武術及文學的表演藝術，是中國傳統戲曲中最古老的劇種之一，亦是最早於2001年獲納入聯合國教科文組織《人類非物質文化遺產代表作名錄》的中國戲曲。
來自江蘇的專業崑劇團將示範演出經典折子戲，並會介紹崑劇的審美、傳統與承傳。
Kunqu Opera, or Kunqu, is one of the oldest form of traditional Chinese Opera. It is originated from Kunshan, Suzhou in the early Ming Dynasty. This classical performing art integrates music, dance, literature and martial arts. For its unique aesthetic values, it has been included on UNESCO’s register of Intangible Heritage of Humanity since 2001.
In this event, professional artists from Jiangsu will perform excerpts of Kunqu, and introduce the aesthetics and tradition of the art form.
