GE2018-46
Swing dance was developed with the swinging style of jazz music from the 1920s-1940s. Among the different styles, Lindy Hop is a free, improvised dance with an emphasis on music, rhythm and groove. Slow and sassy or fast and raw, it originated in the Harlem ballrooms of New York in the 1930s. The majority of swing dances began in African American communities as vernacular dances of their culture. Since the revival of swing dance some decades ago, many dance communities have been formed in different cities hosting regular social gatherings. Let’s have a fun swinging time! All students are welcome; no prior experience is required.
