
To celebrate the centenary, the University officially launched its Centenary Celebrations in January 2011 with the theme of "Knowledge∙Heritage∙Service". SERVICE 100 reaffirms HKU's commitment to building a better world. Throughout the years of HKU existence, HKU students are active advocates for improving human conditions and have launched a variety of community projects related to peace and development, climate change, environmental sustainability, AIDS, fair trade, hunger and poverty alleviation, and universal education, etc. in serving those in need locally as well as across the globe.
